The EUROAVIA Athens NTUA student team participation at the Air Cargo Challenge (ACC)

The Air Cargo Challenge (ACC) is an international competition that takes place in Europe biannually. It is directed towards university students in the science or engineering fields. It was created in 2003 to stimulate the interest in the aeronautics domain and to test its capacities. Competitors are required to construct  a radio-controlled aircraft model to carrry the heaviest load possible under certain design restrictions. The aircraft should take off within 60 metres, fly over a field at least once and land where the organisation has previously planned. There are strict rules and each prototype has to obey a certain span, propulsion (all the engines have a similar power), etc. In the third edition the engines required are electrical ones. Apart from the flying competition, the report and the presentation of the work as well as the technical drawings are considered in the final score.

EUROAVIA Athens is the NTUA student team that paticipates at this challenge and take advantage of the NTUA Wind Tunnel facilities in order to perform aerodynamic tests and to verify crucial subsystems of their aircraft designs.
